Hull Hero©
Smart Hull Cleaning. Sustainable Performance.
Robotics at the Service of the Environment
With extensive experience and solid know-how, at Randal Systems we focus on creating efficient solutions tailored to the specific needs of each sector. This approachallows us to optimize development times, reduce the final cost of products, and ensure prompt delivery to our clients.
Our team has developed and manufactured the HULL HERO ROV, a ship hull cleaning system that has been recognized by leading companies in the industry. This success has positioned Randal Systems as a national benchmark, and we are currently working on expanding our operations internationally.

Hull Hero© System Components
The Hull Hero system consists of a vehicle, hydraulic system, filtration system, 120m umbilical with winch-reel system, and basic CCTV equipment.
ROV
The vehicle, also known as the “cleaning machine,” includes all the necessary mechanisms for
the cleaning procedure on the hull or surface to be treated. It is operated by a diver underwater
and includes image capture elements (cameras) and lighting needed to transmit real-time
footage to the surface. The machine features controls on various actuators, enabling the diver
to adjust the cleaning process and manage the machine on the treated surface.
Power Pack
This component supplies hydraulic power to the cleaning machine.
Two versions are available—one electric and the other diesel-powered – depending on the client’s needs. Both versions are suitable for placement on a port dock or a ship’s deck, requiring no additional weather protection beyond their own structure. It includes the necessary control and monitoring instruments for proper operation and maintenance.
Filtration Station
The filtration station is responsible for receiving water mixed with debris dislodged during cleaning, brought to the surface by the cleaning machine through the umbilical. It consists of several stages with progressively finer filtration steps. The first stage uses a grate that collects larger debris, which can then be removed via an integrated sweeping system.
The water then moves into a tank that feeds a pump, which pushes the water through two independent filtration stages with finer microns before finally returning it to the sea.
Umbilical
A set of hoses and cables necessary to connect the cleaning machine with other system components, such as the pressure unit, filtration station, and CCTV. The elements are bound together to form a bundle and also include components to achieve the proper buoyancy for the assembly. The umbilical is externally covered by a protective sheath. REEL Designed to accommodate longer umbilicals, extending over 120 meters in length.
Umbilical reel
The automatic umbilical reel is designed to accommodate the longest umbilicals, over 120 meters in length. Weighing 400 kg, with lifting points and pallet jack mobility, it features manual control, and the umbilical is wound on a cylindrical reel.
